Obituary

Earl A. Neeman, 88, of Mackinaw, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Reflections Memory Care in Pekin, surrounded by his family.
Earl was born November 24, 1930, in Valmeyer, IL, to A.J. and Eleanora (Johanning) Neeman. He married Carolyn Worner on May 19, 1956, in Forest City, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his son; Scott Neeman of Crestview, FL, daughter; Anne (Scott) Lawson of Mackinaw, six grandchildren; Tim Chambliss, Cheyanne Lawson, Ariel and Tony Neeman, Matthew and Eli Lawson, three great grandchildren; Jozie Musselman, Reed and Reese Chambliss, sister; Adeline Ferry of Dupo and sister-in-law; Mary Ann Neeman of Lake St. Louis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his infant son; Scott Anthony Neeman.
Earl grew up in Cahokia. He was a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University. He taught school and coached sports at the Forman District Unit Schools from 1957 - 1961. Earl and Carolyn then moved to Arizona where he worked as Supervisor of Recreational Therapy at the Arizona State Hospital. After returning to Illinois, he worked at Reed Zone Center in Chicago. In 1966, he went into sales, first working for Random House, then Nystrom and later with Ronocco Coffee Company. He and Carolyn owned and operated Coffee Plus restaurant in Mackinaw from 1980 - 1992. Earl returned to sales, working with Standard Coffee Company until retiring in 1997. After retiring, he was a bus driver for Mackinaw District Schools for several years.
Earl was an active member of New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw where his funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Somers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw. Further visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in New Castle Bible Church Cemetery.
