MORTON - Adeline "Addie" D. Stetzler, age 96, formerly of 218 N. Third Ave peacefully passed away at 4:50 pm Monday, September 2, 2019, at her daughter Jill's home in Cape Coral, Florida surrounded by her family.
Born March 13, 1923 in Groveland, IL to Lem and Elizabeth Stoecker, she married Arthur F. Stetzler on April 11, 1943 in Morton. He passed away on March 20, 1990. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Arlene Stetzler.
Her parents owned and operated Stoecker Seed Company in East Peoria. She worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria until she married Arthur, a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran, briefly relocating them to Eglin Field, FL. She then spent her life in Art's century-old childhood home built by her father-in-law. Spending endless hours on the front porch swing, she nurtured her grand and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her four sons, Douglas (Lindsay) Stetzler, Greg Stetzler, Roger Stetzler and Todd Stetzler, all of Morton; one daughter Jill (Mark) Fisher of Cape Coral; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 four-legged great grandchildren.
Adeline formerly attended Grace Evangelical Mennonite Church, most recently was an active member at Crosspoint Church in East Peoria. Grami loved Christ with her whole heart and shared her faith with all she knew.
Visitation is from 4 pm to 6 pm Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services will begin at 11 am on Monday, September 9, 2019, at Crosspoint Church with a visitation one hour prior. Her grandson, Pastor Cole McLaughlin of North Carolina, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Morton.
