Betty M. Hennig

MORTON - Betty M. Hennig, 78, of Morton, passed away Fri., Sept. 14, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Betty was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Liberty, N.C., to Thomas Wilbert and Beulah (Staley) Ruth. She married Donald H. Hennig on Feb. 23, 1957, in Peoria.
Surviving are her husband Donald of Morton; two sons, Donald Hennig of Peoria Heights and Daniel Hennig of Morton; two grandchildren, Ryan Hennig of Pekin and Nichole Hennig of Morton; and one great grandson, Clayton Blunier of Morton. She is also survived by one sister, Margaret Kelch of Morton and her step-father, Chuck Lewis of Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty had many hobbies but chief among those was her passion for books. She read over a thousand in her lifetime.
She was a dedicated and loving homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family.
Betty was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton and was also a member of the Morton Gardening Club. Betty served as an election judge in Tazewell County for many years.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no visitation or services held.
