Betty Hines

MORTON – Betty J. Hines, 91, of Morton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Aperion Care Morton Villa.

She was born on June 13, 1930, in Peoria, Ill., to James and Martha Nixon. She married Robert “Bob” Hines on November 10, 1956, in East Peoria.
Surviving are her husband, Bob Hines of Morton; two daughters, Dee Dee (Paul) Saupe of East Peoria and Sandy Streeter of Morton; one son, Bob (Courtney) Hines of Groveland; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Nixon and Gene Nixon.
Betty worked many jobs including at the Peppermill and Rocke’s Meating Haus in Morton. She and Bob were constant companions and made many friends during their years together.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with Msgr. Gerald Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
