MORTON - Cheryl Jean Wuthrich, 66, of Morton, passed away at her home on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 26, 1951, in Bloomington, Ill, to Roy and Polly (Marti) Schrock. She married Mark Wuthrich on Sept. 29, 1974.
Surviving are her husband, Mark, of Morton; five children, Marti (Brad) Pascual of Burbank, Calif., Luke (Leisa) Wuthrich of Tifton, Ga., Daniel (Diane) Wuthrich of Morton, Bob (Holly) Salter of Morton, and David Wuthrich of Metamora; and 14 grandchildren, Max, Madeline, and Gideon Pascual; Silas, Hazel, Ames, Lana, Leia, Asher, and Ila Wuthrich; and Alexis, Autumn, Sabrina, and Justin Salter. She is also survived by her father and one brother, Charles (Diane) Schrock, all of Congerville, Ill.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother.
Cheryl gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1967 and served Him faithfully in every area of life. She graduated from Eureka High School in 1969 and from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria in 1972.
She worked at Methodist Hospital until she became a full-time homemaker in 1975. While raising her family she was very active as a volunteer in the Morton School District, serving on the school board from 1997 to 2005.
She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Morton. She served in various capacities including the Child Sponsorship Program which provides support for Christian education in Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Guatemala, and Zambia. She was very involved with its inception and served as a volunteer until recently.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thurs., Oct 5, 2017, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Fri., Oct 6, at the Apostolic Christian Church in Morton, with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. Ministers of the church will officiate. Burial will be at Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
