MORTON - Clarence Clyde Bollegar, 88, of Morton, passed away Tues., Aug. 21, 2018, at Aperion Care Morton Villa.
Clyde was born Nov. 6, 1929, in Pekin, to Clarence and Elizabeth (Kuecks) Bollegar. He married Wilma Zimmerman on June 6, 1956 in Morton. She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2014.
Surviving are two daughters, Krista K. (Dr. Erik) Opperman of Morton and Nancy A. Bollegar of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Dr. David (Rebecca) Opperman and Dr. Jonathan (Meredith) Opperman, both of Morton, and Kathryn (Uriah) Kilgallin of Washington; and four great-grandchildren, Charles Opperman, James Opperman, Lydia Kilgallin, and Anna Kilgallin. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Myrna Bollegar of Peoria and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by two brothers, William Bollegar and Robert Bollegar; and one sister, Emma Moran.
Clyde is a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War.
He was a 1947 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
His career was spent working in the food industry, managing and owning local grocery stores.

Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 26, 2018 at Eastside Bible Church in Morton. A funeral service will also take place at the church on Mon., Aug. 27, at 11 a.m., with a visitation held prior from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Military funeral honors will be conducted at the church following the service. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Bible Church in Morton or to Illinois CancerCare in Peoria.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the many physicians and staff members at OSF St. Francis, Heartland Health Care Center - Riverview, Brandon Wood Retirement Center and Morton Villa, as well as the Illinois CancerCare in Peoria. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Gregory Gerstner at the Illinois CancerCare for his compassionate and skilled care and would also like to thank the nurse practitioners, nursing and professional staff, as well as volunteers.
