David Westermann

MORTON – David H. Westermann, 80, of Morton, entered his heavenly home on Friday, September 9, 2022.

He was born on October 22, 1941, in East Moline, Ill., to Henry and Ruth (McCutcheon) Westermann. He married Nancy Fawer on June 8, 1962. They had two sons, Tadd and Jeff.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy Westermann of Morton; son, Jeff (Krista) Westermann; daughter-in-law, Linda Westermann; grandchildren, Casey (Jeff) Stachnik, Cody Westermann, Josh (Jenna) Westermann, Gunnar (Victoria) Westermann and Madyson Westermann; great-grandson, Tolleson; brother, Steve (Cindy) Westermann; sister, Linda (Kenny) Wodrich; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tadd and both parents.

Dave graduated from Morton High School in 1959. He retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 2001 after 39 years of service.

Dave enjoyed his family, woodworking, bowling and golf.

He was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2022, with Pastor Greg Moyer officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Tremont.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran School.
