MORTON - Doris M. Bauman, 92, of Morton, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Apostolic Christian Restmor Nursing Home in Morton.
Doris was born Feb. 9, 1926, in Tremont, Ill., to George and Abbie (Sperry) Fort. She married Eldon Bauman on June 15, 1946 in Morton. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2013. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Schafer, Viola Dringenberg, and Louise Wanner, and two brothers, Lloyd and Ralph Fort.
Surviving are her children, Connie Bauman of Boston, Mass., Becky Kaiser of Tremont and Frank (Sheila) Bauman of Kissimmee, Fla., Ill.; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Ray Fort of Avon Park, Fla., and Roy Fort of Morton.
Doris worked 17 years at Otto Baum, retiring in 1979 from the payroll department.
Doris lived a blessed life filled with God's grace, a loving family and devoted friends. Doris loved singing, quilting, the Chicago Cubs, playing cards and games with family, and competitive weekly Farkle games with her dear Brandon Wood friends.
She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church in Morton, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to Morton Apostolic Christian Church or Brandon Wood Retirement Center in Morton.
