Eric L. Jones

EAST PEORIA – Eric L. Jones, 54, of East Peoria, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on June 27, 1967, in Peoria, Ill.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, Don and Nancy Jones of Morton; siblings, Scott (Kara) Jones of Las Vegas, Nev., Daniel (fiancé, Renae) Jones of Tremont, and Ranae (Dr. Bob) Lizer of Peoria; niece, Molly Jones; nephews, Seth Jones and Brayden Lizer; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Burke; brother, Kevin Lee Jones; and grandparents, Earl and Carol McMullen.
Eric worked for Keystone Automotive in Peoria.
He enjoyed dirt track racing at the tracks in Peoria and Fairbury, music, fishing, and car shows. Eric was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6 p.m., with Rev. Keith Haun officiating, both at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. The service will be live streamed at 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, via https://www.facebook.com/knappjohnsonfuneralhome. All are invited to a gathering of Eric’s friends and loved ones at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, hosted at Morton Christian Church, 1001 S. 4th Ave., Morton, Ill., 61550.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
