MORTON - Eugene R. "Gene" Liscom, 84, of Morton, passed away Wed., Nov. 22, 2017, at UnityPoint Health - Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
Gene was born Nov. 26, 1932, in Heyworth, Ill., to Ray and Wilma (McClure) Liscom. He married Rose Heck on March 14, 1964 in Bloomington, Ill.
Surviving are his wife Rose of Morton; one daughter Linda (David) Kennedy of Overland Park, Kansas; one son Alan Morgan of Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bennet, Jackie Kennedy-Wood, and Jessica White; and three great-grandchildren, Evan Bennet, Liam Wood, and Faith White. Gene is also survived by three sisters, Janet Wells of Morton, Marilyn (Larry) Trimble of Mackinaw, and Cleo Holt of Columbus, Ind., and brother-in-law, Dean Hasty of Hopedale, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his sister Jane Hasty.
Gene was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the Parts department for 44 years, retiring in 1995. Gene also owned and operated Liscom's Auto Wrecking in Morton.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday., Nov. 27, 2017 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. A graveside service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bloomington will also take place on Monday at 2 p.m.
