GABRIEL CORRIGAN
EAST PEORIA - Gabriel R. "Gabe" Corrigan, 30, of East Peoria, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on July 29, 1987, in Peoria, to Dennis and Bonnie (Meyer) Corrigan.
Surviving are his parents, Dennis and Bonnie Corrigan of East Peoria and his sister, Whitney (John) Wiegand of Champaign, Ill.
Gabe graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 2007.
Gabe found enjoyment in all types of music and movies. He especially enjoyed watching car racing with his dad and was an avid fan of the Andy Griffith TV show.
Gabe was handed a life of insurmountable challenges since the day he was born. Each day Gabe dealt with these obstacles with strength, courage and a whole lot of determination to make it through the day. He was able to find joy and laughter in each challenge that his disability presented to him. Gabe radiated so much love to all the people he came in contact with and was loved dearly by so many. As his family we are so proud that Gabe is our son and brother. Gabe will be profoundly missed and will be forever in our hearts.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Sat. Feb. 24, 2018, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with Msgr. Gerald Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Sat., Feb. 24 at the church. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tazewell County Resource Center, 21310 IL Rt. 9, Tremont, IL 61568.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff of TCRC, Inc. Gabe lived the last few years in one of the group homes operated by TCRC. The caregivers and staff gave Gabe loving and very attentive care; they most certainly enriched Gabe's life and were a tremendous support and help to his family.

Gabe was an organ and tissue donor. As a result of his kind heart, he will live on through recipients from Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network.
