MORTON– George W. Adams, 69, of Morton, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023, at his home.
He was born on August 26, 1953, in Carthage, Ill., to George Sr. and Mary (Hardy) Adams.
Surviving are his son, Kahlus Adams of Normal, Ill.; former wife, Elizabeth Adams of Normal, Ill; one sister, Debra Barton of Carthage Ill.; half-brother, Jack Curfman of Carthage, Ill.; and four cousins, Don Thurman of Carthage, Ill., Missy Barrett of Carthage, Ill., Janice Knapp of St. Louis, Mo. and Judy Schmidt of Troy, Mo..
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bill was a manager at Community Workshop Training Center in Peoria where he worked for nearly 40 years. He had a lifelong career of serving adults with disabilities and the Peoria community. Bill enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs, woodworking, and trips to Disney World. He had many roles in his life, such as coach, manager, community volunteer, but his favorite and most important role was being a dad. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and coworkers.
You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he lived. You can remember him and only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado, Ill. at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Community Workshop Training Center in Peoria or the Marietta Briddick Scholarship Fund at Illinois State University.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
