George L. Kehlert

MORTON - George L. Kehlert, 52, of Morton, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at his home.
He was born on June 22, 1966, in Philadelphia, Penn., to Leo and Marianne (Liebendorfer) Kehlert. He married Michelle Watts on June 21, 1997 in East Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle Kehlert of Morton; son, Tristan Kehlert of Morton; mother, Marianne Kehlert of Morton; brother, Pete (Liz) Kehlert of Mackinaw; sisters, Andrea (Todd) Vetter of Mackinaw and Ramona (John) Roskop of Marion, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, Clint, Christina, Cara, Ben, Joshua, Josiah, Leah, and Dustin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
George was a US Army veteran. He was a forklift driver at Caterpillar Inc.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was also a member of the Chillicothe Sportsman's Club.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at New Apostolic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family to assist with George's son Tristan's college education.
