MORTON – George “Tim” Warner, 91, of Morton, passed away Monday, May 8, 2023.
He was born on August 31, 1931, in LaHarpe, Ill., to George W., Sr. and Thelma (Ketchem) Warner. Tim married Roseann Roberts on November 18, 1961, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2010. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Warner.
Surviving are his children, Tim (Karen) Warner of Valparaiso, Ind., Jeff (Cheryl) Warner of Wauwatosa, Wisc., Melissa (Mike) Kraft of Morton, Matt (Cindy) Warner of East Peoria; 12 grandchildren, Joseph, Anne, Mary, Eileen and Lucy Warner, Adam, Emma Warner and her fiancé David Zehm and Cooper, Claire, Callie and Casey Kraft, Maggie Warner; and four nieces, Robin (Kerry) Goodyear, Kimberly (Mark) Walden, Amy (Butch) Everett and Peggy Fall-Seeley.
Tim was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War, where he received both the Korean Service Medal and the UN Service Medal.
Tim worked at Caterpillar for 40 years, retiring from pricing and scheduling in 1993. He also co-owned and operated Framing House and Gallery in Bloomington, Ill. After retirement, he worked several years at the Morton Auto Auction.
Tim was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton for 60 years. He was also a member of Morton Knights of Columbus 4194 Fr. Raho Council.
Tim was an avid golfer and St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed supporting all of his grandchildren in their extra-curricular activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2023,at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with military honors following. Fr. Mark DeSutter will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Grade School.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
