Helen Boswell

EUREKA – Helen E. Boswell, 93, of Eureka, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

She was born on October 6, 1928, in Barry, Ill., to Willis and Geneva (Young) Bower. She married Robert Koener in 1946. She later married Eugene Boswell in 1961, who preceded her in death on November 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by both parents; one brother, Charles Bower; and three stepsons, Steve, Gary and Kenny Boswell.

Surviving are one son, Alan (Laura) Koener of Washington; one daughter, Carol (Tom) Schick of Morton; stepson, David (Karen) Boswell; stepdaughters, Brenda and Nancy; stepdaughter-in-law, Chris Boswell; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Helen raised her family and worked as a secretary for various companies, last for Koener Electric. She very much enjoyed her grandchildren.

She resided at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka for the last three years, where she made many friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at the home for their compassionate love and care.

A funeral service for Helen will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Washington Apostolic Christian Church, with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., prior to the service on Friday at the Washington Apostolic Christian Church. Entombment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.
