PEKIN– Ilene E. Guile, 85, of Pekin, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Aperion Care Morton Villa.
Ilene was born on February 15, 1936, in Rural Morton, Ill., to Edward and Lennie (Rhodes) Zimmerman. She married Charles “Dick” Guile on June 26, 1956, in Peoria, Ill. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Rick Guile of Eureka, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Crystal Power Guile of Manito, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ericka Guile and Patrick (Allie Adams) Guile, both of Washington, Ill.; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin “Howie” and Delilah Guile.
She was preceded in death by both parents; and siblings, Orville, Vernadine, Art, Lee, and Bertha.
Ilene was a waitress for 35 years in Peoria and Pekin. She and her husband leased Daly Oil Co. in Peoria.
Ilene was a charter member of New Castle Mennonite Church, which was later known as New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw. She was later a member of Pekin Assembly of God for 35 years. Currently, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial of cremated remains will be held at Mount Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek, Ill., at a later date.
Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene in Pekin.
