MORTON – In loving memory of Irene, who peacefully passed away on July 10, 2023, at Independence Village Senior Living in Peoria, Il.
Irene was born on May 7,1938, in Russellville, Alabama to Ralph and Pearl (Hendrix) Richeson. She married Tejinder Sedeora on November 7, 1969 in Rockford, Illinois.
She is survived by her husband, Tejinder Sedeora of Morton, who will forever cherish their memories together. She is also survived by sons, Bret Helm of Davidson, NC, and Raj (Kamakshi Reddy) Sedeora of McKinney, TX, daughter Sheila (Mike) McGowan of Mesa, AZ, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as her siblings: sister, Ruth Spooner of Beloit, WI, brothers Aaron (Trudy) Richeson of Belvidere, IL and Cedric (Emily) Richeson of Oshkosh, WI. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Carl Helm, and her brother Norman.
Irene graduated from Rockford College and was an extremely creative person. She started with pottery, painting, creating digital presentations and then transitioned to her lifelong passion of writing. She won the James Jones Short Story Award in 2011 and published several poetry and fiction books. Her works appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines.
Memorials may be made to the Sierra Club, a cause Irene faithfully supported.
