EAST PEORIA - Ivan J. Egli, 98, of East Peoria, passed away Tues., Nov. 21, 2017 at Select Post Acute Care, LLC in Eureka.
Ivan was born Sept. 30, 1919 to John and Rosie (Good) Egli in Hopedale, Ill. He married Eva Hufford on June 3, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas.
Surviving are his wife Eva Egli of Eureka; four children, Vicki Walker of Peoria, Jerry (Lynn) Egli of Carlsbad, Calif., Randy (Shelley) Egli of Homosassa, Fla., and Patti Brecklin of Washington, Ill.; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Joe (Carol) Egli of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Ivan was a United States Army veteran having served during World War II.
He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 43 years in the medical department.
Ivan was a member of Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church in East Peoria and later became a member of Grace Church in Morton. He had his pilot's license for over 40 years and also had a commercial and instructor's license; instructing into his 80's. Ivan and his wife had a home in the Ozarks and enjoyed boating with the family. He enjoyed teaching his children how to water ski and also enjoyed snow skiing in Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2 p.m., Sat., Dec. 2, 2017 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Doane Brubaker officiating. Burial will be held at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.

Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
