James "Jim" Pike, Jr.

MORTON – James C. “Jim” Pike, Jr., 79, of Morton, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

Jim was born on January 20, 1942 in Peoria, Ill., to James Sr. and Mabel (Madjeuski) Pike. He married Roberta Gilbertt in Bartonville, Ill. on April 26, 1966. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2018. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, James Michael Gasiamis.

Surviving are his daughter, Deborah (Michael Gasiamis) Pike of Chicago; one grandchild, Nolan James Gasiamis; and two sisters-in-law, Marsha Rankin of Colorado and Judith Gilbertt of California.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He and his wife owned and operated the Gilbertt Furniture and Upholstery business in Peoria until the store closed in 2008. The family business was in operation for over 70 years.

He was a member of the Pekin Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends. Jim was a fan of Formula One auto-racing, particularly Ferrari, the Montovani Orchestra and was a great billiards player.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Pekin Country Club in Pekin, Ill., with friends and family sharing time starting at 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Apostolic Christian Restmor.
