JAMES K. "JIM" WHITE
MORTON - James K. "Jim" White, 83, of Morton, passed away Mon., Jan. 1, 2018.
Jim was born Dec. 24, 1934 in Peoria to Francis "Kline" and Ruth (Boggs) White. He married Harriet Rood on June 3, 1956 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife Harriet of Morton; two daughters, Sue (Joe) Loitz of Coral Springs, Fla., and Diane (Dennis Caffery) White of Hopedale, Ill.; and one grandson, Andrew Loitz of Coral Springs, Fla. He is also survived by his sister Jean White of Elgin, Ill., and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his son, David.
Jim is a graduate of Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind.
He worked at Caterpillar as a Chemical Engineer and Metallurgist. He retired in 1995 after 41 years of service.
He was a member of the Jaycees for 18 years and was also very active for many years in the Lion's Club, serving as a past president and treasurer. He was also the Lion's Club coordinator for the vision and hearing program. Jim was part of STLE, a nationwide engineer's club.
He enjoyed traveling with his family, especially out West to the Colorado River and Grand Canyon and to the East coast visiting Maine. Every year during Caterpillar vacation time, Jim looked forward to traveling with his family in their camper. Jim loved his family dearly and always cherished their time together.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
A private memorial service will be held for the family. Burial of cremated remains will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
