MORTON – Jeffrey A. Zimmerman, 53, of Morton, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge in Morton, where his mom Janis has been waiting for him.

He was born on March 17, 1968, in Peoria, to John and Janis (Rassi) Zimmerman.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, John and Inge Zimmerman of Morton; sister Jody (Jeremy) Shaw of Whitinsville, Mass; brother John (Holly) Zimmerman of Peoria; stepbrother Jason (Kim) Zimmerman of Eureka; stepsister Jill (Luke) Rocke of Congerville; and nieces and nephews, Fiona, Scarlett and Lincoln Shaw; Isaac, Taya, Myles Jeffrey and Lily Janis Zimmerman; Keegan and Andrew Zimmerman; and Caleb, Wyatt, Drake and Mariah Rocke.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his mother, Janis Zimmerman.

Jeff touched so many lives, from family and friends to the amazing and wonderful staff and residents at Timber Ridge. His infectious smile, enthusiastic laugh, love for balloons, affinity for clothes, hats, and ties, appreciation for Johnny Cash and the Statler Brothers, and generosity in giving out free kisses and hugs will be missed. And though he loved hanging out with his nieces and nephews, we’re so thankful he’s now reunited with his mom and other family members who have gone before him. We praise God for bringing Jeff into our lives, and for now calling him home.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at Morton Apostolic Christian Church in Morton with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton and also from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Friday. The funeral service will be live streamed on Friday, July 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. via the church website at https://www.mortonacchurch.org/. Burial will be at Morton Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.
