Jerry Brown

MORTON – Jerry E. Brown, 83, of Morton, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, at his home.

He was born on January 5, 1938, in Peoria, Ill., to Earl and Rose (Kirwan) Brown. He married Rosemond Baker on April 25, 1959 in Peoria, Ill.

Surviving are his wife, Rosemond Brown of Morton; one daughter, Carina Schilling of Morton; two granddaughters, Sydney Schilling of Morton and Hayley (Nic) Bourazak of East Peoria; one great grandson, Jaxson McCoy of Morton; and two brothers, Jim Brown of Jacksonville, Fla. and Earl (Nancee) Brown of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by one son, Matt, both parents, two brothers, Don and Bob and two sisters, Mary and Patty.

Jerry served in the United States Army. He was a Bradley graduate and worked at Caterpillar for 50 years.

He was a member of Pine Lakes where he played in various golf leagues.

Jerry was a loving and devoted husband to Rosemond for 62 years.

Jerry was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton where a Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on July 10, 2021. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church. Burial of cremated remains will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, Ill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
