Jerry Thurman

MORTON – Jerry C. Thurman, 82, of Morton, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Farmington Village Nursing and Rehab in Farmington, Ill.

He was born on March 24, 1940, in Bethpage, Tenn., to Olie and Madine (Thompson) Thurman.

Surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Doug) Raisor of Morton; two grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Meiner of Pontiac, Ill. and Derrick (Cody Balentine) Grimm of Peoria; four great-grandchildren, Everett and Bruce Meiner and Jax and Bennett Grimm; sister, Ann (Carl) Satterlee of Morton; half-brother, Dwayne (Janet) Thurman of Kentucky; sister-in-law, Mona Thurman of Morton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death is one daughter, Colby Thurman; and two brothers, Jim and Ken.

Jerry was a United States Air Force veteran, having served in Okinawa. He worked as a machinist for Rockwell Corporation for many years.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private graveside burial service will be held at Hirstein Cemetery, with military honors by Tazewell Military Rites Team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greater Peoria Honor Flight.
