MORTON - Joseph H. Heidbreder, 87, of Pekin, formerly of Morton, passed Wed., Jan. 24, 2018, at UAW Center in Pekin.
He was born on July 6, 1930, in Quincy, Ill., to William and Ella (Fry) Heidbreder. He married Julia Raleigh on Oct. 24, 1953, in Ewing, Mo. She preceded him in death on May 7, 1997. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are three sons, Michael (Patricia) Heidbreder of Pekin, Charles (Susan) Heidbreder of Sharon, S.C. and Jeffrey Heidbreder of Pekin; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Madison of Quincy, Ill.
Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War.
He worked at Caterpillar in East Peoria as an inspector for 27 years; retiring in 1991.
Joseph enjoyed woodworking and making Bolo ties.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
