MORTON - Joseph D. “Joey” Reese, 32, of Morton, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on March 14, 1990, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Joseph L. and Rose (Roberts) Reese.
Surviving are both parents of Mackinaw; six siblings, Tanya (Nick) Roth of St. Peters, Mo., Tracy (Dustin) Schierer of Metamora, Nikki (Evan) Hart of Washington, Katie (George) Sanders of East Peoria, Bryan Reese of Mackinaw and Jamie Reese of Morton; seven nieces and nephews, Andrew Roth, Mya, Sadie and Riley Schierer, Emmy Hart and Evie and Aaron Sanders; and aunts and uncles, Joseph (Lory) Roberts of Indianola, Iowa, Beverly Winkels of Ankeny, Iowa, Pat Roberts of Eureka, Carol (Steve) Cook of Dickeyville, Wis., Dwight (Benilda) Roberts of Indianola, Iowa, Diane (Kurt) Buller of Richfield, Minn., and Pam (Gary) VanCouvering of Menifee, Calif.
Joey loved his large family. He enjoyed playing games like Trouble and Uno Spin, and putting together puzzles with his mom and a caregiver every evening. Joey loved Broadway musicals such as Newsies, Les Miserables (especially the production his brother and sister performed in), and Phantom of the Opera. His favorite movies were Disney's Descendants and Frozen. Joey would spend hours playing video games, but his best time was spending his Saturday playing Lego Star Wars on a PS4 and watching movies with his brother Bryan.
Joey would tell you he was the “Trouble Maker.” He loved to tickle, mess up hair, and sneak up and “scare” people. He perfected his mad scientist laugh and was always plotting to “take over the world!” He certainly took over the hearts of all those who loved him.
Joey made great friends through Heart of Morton, Timber Ridge (where he lived this past year), and EP!C (where he worked). Thank you to all of you who shared your love with Joey.
