MORTON - Judith H. Truitt, 81, of Morton, passed away Sat., Nov. 10, 2018, at Apostolic Christian Restmor.
Judith was born Sept. 2, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, to L. Irvin and Evelyn (Shuey) Himebaugh. She married John Robert Truitt on Dec. 29, 1962, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 2003. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Clyde in 2000.
Surviving are one daughter, Maria (Mike) Wefer; and four grandchildren, Bethany, Henry, Sarah, and Daniel Wefer; all of Morton. She was also survived by close friend and caregiver, Kim Wiese.
Judith was the organist and choir director for the Church of Transfiguration Episcopal Church in Palos Park, Ill., Trinity Episcopal in Wheaton, Ill., and lastly for St. Andrew's Church in Peoria. She was also a lifelong piano teacher. Judith most recently attended Morton United Methodist Church.
Judith's passion for music led her to becoming a member of the IL State Music Teacher Association, the American Guild of Organists, and the National Peoria Area Music Teachers Association. She was also a founding member of the National Leadership Program for Musicians in the Episcopal church.
In addition to music, Judith enjoyed quilting and loved cats.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Monday, November 19, 2018, at Morton United Methodist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gabe Wanck officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Trinity Episcopal Church
Columbarium in Wheaton, IL.

Memorials may be made to Morton United Methodist Church Music Fund, or to Community United Church of Christ Music Fund.
