Judy Probyn

MORTON – Judy L. Probyn, 81, of Morton, passed away on June 18, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice in Peoria.

She was born on September 18, 1940, in Peoria, Ill., to Kenneth and Mary Lee (Ziemer) Hirth.

Surviving are two daughters, Susan (Greg Woss) Probyn of Silver Spring, Md. And Sherry Probyn Robinson of Morton; three grandchildren, Taylor Tingle, Skyler Robinson and Heleyna Robinson; nephew, Mike (Tina) Hasty of Morton; niece, Amy (Jason) Lavin of Pekin; and brother-in-law, Dick Hasty of Morton.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marianne Hasty.

Judy was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She never missed a dance recital or baseball game. Her priority was her family and she lived for spending time with them every chance she had.

Judy was a very loyal and thoughtful friend. She loved to share a cup of coffee and visit with her friends. She was known for her sense of humor and always had a witty comeback and a smile for everyone.

Her family referred to her as the “Queen of Morton” because she never knew a stranger and couldn’t go anywhere in Morton without knowing someone.

Judy was a member of Newcomers Club, Morton Junior Women’s Club, two neighborhood Bunco clubs, and was an active member of Jefferson Elementary School PTO. She had been a member of Community United Church of Christ and New Life Christian Church, both in Morton.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A visitation will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A private Celebration of Life service will be held.
