Karen Greiner

MORTON – Karen Greiner, 79, of Morton, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on October 14, 1944, in Morris, Minn., to Walter and Elizabeth (Hadler) Ross. Karen married LeRoy Greiner on February 12, 1966, in Morris, Minn.

Surviving are her husband, LeRoy of Morton; children, Mike (Sheri) Greiner of Mackinaw, Jenny (Patrick) Ryan of Monona, Iowa, and Lori (Brian Roth) Greiner Grover of Morton; grandchildren, Levi Greiner, Chloe (Isaiah) Proctor, Ashley (Tyler Herron) Reese and Connor Ryan; great granddaughter, Sophia Herron; and brothers, Dick Ross and Dennis Ross.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ken Ross.

Karen was a nurse before raising her family. Once her children were grown, she worked for Morton Unit 709 School District and Bethel Lutheran School as a cook.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Karen was an animal lover and enjoyed playing cards with her family. She had a contagious laugh that could fill a room with joy.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12 noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Morton, Illinois.
