Larry Lau

EAST PEORIA – Larry A. Lau, 81, of East Peoria, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Richard L. Owens Hospice in Peoria.

He was born on July 21, 1941, in Waukon, Iowa, to Howard and Bessie (Pettit) Lau. He married Susan Brubeck in Astoria, Ill., on April 8, 1967.

Surviving are his wife, Susan Lau of East Peoria; two sons, JT (Kara) Lau of East Peoria and Chad (Alesha) Lau of Morton; daughter, Robyn (John) Bruce of Arvada, Colo.; five grandchildren, Josiah, Kayla, Paige, Marina and Kallie Lau; and two sisters, Patricia (Phil) Patrick of Loami, Ill. and Lorraine Weinstein of Scottsdale, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by step-granddaughter, Nichole Perkins; and brother, Bill Lau.

Larry worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 40 years, retiring in May 2005 as an international sales rep.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A private family graveside service will follow.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Runner’s Association.
