He was born on July 23, 1955, in Hopedale, Ill., to Gordon and Lela (Springer) Stalter. He married Debra Wegeleben on June 10, 1978, in Spokane, Wash.

Surviving are his wife, Debra Stalter of Morton; three sons, Mark (Ashleigh) Stalter of Eureka, David (Mindy) Stalter of Eureka; Matthew (Ashley) Stalter of Lily Lake, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Gavin, Maximus, Ella, Joah, Milo, Carter, Easton, Dava, Kinsley and Jovie; three siblings, Rita (Larry) Gardner of Carterville, Ill., Collene (Russ) Dailey of Hopedale, Ill. and Dale (Vicki) Stalter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lonn graduated in 1973 from Olympia High School and from Illinois State University in 1978.

He was a member of New Pointe Church in Pekin.

Lonn loved to say hello and get to know people…a family joke when looking for him was that dad was making a new friend.    His favorite thing was spending time with his Lord, wife, children, and grandchildren. Lonn attended all events for his three boys and ten grandchildren. They were his priority.

He loved going places with his family, particularly the Stalter Family weekend at Mendota Hills Campground! Lonn worked in public works for 40 years. Beginning his career in Hopedale as a teenager before working in Morton at the wastewater plant and then as superintendent of the water treatment plant, retiring in 2014.  After retiring, he worked part time at Morton Pizza Ranch doing what he loved most…talking to people. He also worked as a driver for Lighthouse, loving the different places he was able to go making many friends.
