WEST PEORIA - Lucas M. "Luc" Howell, 35, of West Peoria, formerly of Pekin, passed away Sun., July 16, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Luc was born Jan. 2, 1982, in Peoria, to Mack and Patti (Simms) Howell. He married Jenny Van Ness on July 25, 2014 at Bradley Park in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Jenny Howell of West Peoria; one daughter, Olive Howell of West Peoria; his parents, Mack and Patti Howell of Galesburg; and two sisters, Andrea (Michael) Brindell of Creve Coeur and Carrie Howell of Killeen, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Luc was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Howell and Nicholas Howell; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Luc worked as a Security Guard at Buehler Home in Peoria, and previously at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
He was an amazing father who spent every spare minute making up games and being creative and having imagination time with Olive. Lucas and Olive particularly loved playing "stomp monster" a game they made up together. His love of Olive and Jenny showed in every aspect of his life. Lucas loved music, movies and television, particularly sharing his love of Game of Thrones with everyone he knew. He will be missed greatly by his cat, Leon, and by all his family and loved ones. Luc was short lived, but often loved.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of life service for Luc will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Fr. David Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Lucas Howell Benefit Fund c/o Southside Bank.
