MALCOLM E. AMSTUTZ
MORTON - Malcolm E. Amstutz, 89, of Morton, passed away Wed., Jan. 3, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 13, 1928 in Groveland, Ill., to Floyd and Katherine (Ackerman) Amstutz. He married Verna Hartman Dec. 22, 1950 in Washington, Ill. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2014.
Surviving are his daughter Sue (Ed) Railey of Morton and son Greg (Carrie) Amstutz, both of Morton; three grandsons, Steve Amstutz, Tim (Amanda) Amstutz, and Darren (Elisa) Railey; and two step-grandsons, Brian (Kristin) Railey and Bret Railey. Malcolm is also survived by his great-granddaughter Annabelle Railey and step-great-grandson Anderson Railey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Malcolm served two years in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Following this service, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years.
Malcolm graduated from Bradley University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and business administration.
He was a self-employed tax accountant and financial advisor for 45 years and was a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals
Malcolm served on governing positions with the Christian Center in Peoria, the Southside Mission, the Christian Business Men's Committees in Peoria and Morton, and for the Until He Returns Ministries. Malcolm was also actively involved in his church.
He was a lifetime member of Kennel Lake Sportsman Club in Morton.
Malcolm dearly loved his family and his Savior Jesus Christ, whom he served faithfully throughout his life.

He was a member of Grace Church in Morton where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tues., Jan. 9, 2018, with Rev. Doug Habegger officiating. Visitation will also be held at the church from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mon., Jan. 8 and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. prior to the service on Tues. Burial will be at Groveland Mennonite Cemetery in Groveland.

Memorials may be made to Grace Church in Morton, the Christian Center in Peoria, or to Until He Returns Ministries.
