MARCELLA B. CHAPMAN
MORTON - Marcella B. Chapman, 78, of Morton, passed away Mon., July 9, 2018, in Morton.
Marcella was born April 2, 1940, in Winnebego County, Ill, to Winfred Arthur and Virgie (Larson) Chapman.
Surviving are one sister, Blanche Chapman of Morton and one brother, Jim (Nola) Chapman of Lisle, Ill. Also surviving are two nieces and one nephew, Bonnie (Mike) Price of Franklin, N.C., Scott (Christine) Chapman of Beach Park, Ill., Carrie (Aaron) Imig of Manteno, Ill.; 10 great nieces and nephews; and six first cousins.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents.
She graduated with her RN degree from West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Ill. She also graduated from Wheaton College and later graduated from Denver Theological Seminary School.
Marcella worked as a RN and retired from Morton Apostolic Christian Timberidge, currently known as Apostolic Christian LifePoints. After retiring, she continued to volunteer at various organizations.
Marcella was a member of Mensa.
She was also a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland, where a visitation will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Pastor Mark Mincy officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Willwood Burial Park in Rockford, Ill.
Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Center for Advancement - Institute for Vision Research Fund.
