MORTON - Marilyn T. Bridge, 84, of Morton, passed away Wed., Feb. 6, 2019, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
Marilyn was born May 31, 1934, in Valley Park, Mo., to William J. and Teresa M. (Jacobsmeyer) Mueller. She married John J. Bridge on Oct. 9, 1954, in Valley Park, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Richard Mueller.
Surviving are two sons, William (Kathy) Bridge of Delafield, Wis. and James Bridge of Morton; two daughters, Catherine (David) Oppy of Monument, Colo. and Maureen (Kelly) Williams of Yates City, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Juliana, Matthew, Benjamin and Annmarie Bridge, Megan and Will Oppy and Michelle (Bridge) and Andrew Petersen; and one sister, Eleanor Epperson of Valley Park, Mo.
Marilyn graduated from St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She worked in public health nursing until starting a family in 1961, and was a member of the American National Red Cross Nurses. She was a volunteer at Blessed Sacrament School and a member of the Blessed Sacrament Altar and Rosary Society. She worked and served residents of Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton as a registered nurse from 1978 to 1993. In retirement, she volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity in Peoria. Marilyn was a devoted mother of four children and grandmother of seven.
Marilyn was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, where a Rosary service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019, followed by a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral Mass will also be held at the church on Mon., Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Gerald T. Ward officiating. Prior to the service, an additional visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
