Becky grew up in rural Missouri and told exciting stories of that period in her life. She watched as the Lake of the Ozarks was formed, eventually covering some of her family's farm ground. She was sad that she never had the opportunity to go to high school, but obtained her GED at age 48; she knew hard work and was always willing to help others.
Becky was a member of First Mennonite Church in Morton. She especially enjoyed projects at her church including assembling school kits, helping at the Mennonite Relief sale, and making hundreds of pounds of soap for relief. Faith, family, and friends, were very important to her.
