GROVELAND - Maurice F. Loeb, 76, of Groveland, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Maurice was born January 20, 1943, in Clovis, Calif., to Charles and Delores (Buckmaster) Loeb. He married Pamela Kilbride on January 25, 1969, in Quincy, Ill.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela of Groveland; one daughter, Kristen (Randy) Closner of East Peoria; one son, Robert (Jamie) Loeb of East Peoria; four grandchildren, Kevin (Samantha) Closner, Caitlin (Justin) Dillard, Gabrielle (David) Flores, and Samuel Loeb; five great-grandchildren, Natalya Dillard, Luke Dillard, Madelyn Closner, Chase Closner, and Rafael Flores; and two sisters, Beverly Nelson and Shirley Budell.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his older brother Robert Charles Loeb.
Maurice was a US Army veteran. He worked as a bond underwriter for Union Insurance.
He enjoyed reading books in his free time and was a Civil War history enthusiast. He also volunteer taught at Aletha School in Peoria.
Maurice was an active member at Days of Grace Church in Morton, where a service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 28, 2019, with Pastor Randy Hall officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 am, prior to the service at the church. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the US Army and Tazewell Military Rites Team. Burial will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
Memorials may be made to Days of Grace Church.
