MORTON - Michelle Lyn Swearingen, 46, of Morton, formerly of Kewanee, Ill., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family Thurs., Sept. 27, 2018.
Michelle was born on Nov. 6, 1971, in Kewanee, Ill., to Joe and Mary Lou (Wilson) Swearingen.
Surviving are her four children, Maurisa Swearingen, of St. Louis, Mo., Javion Harris, Jonah Harris, both of Davenport, Iowa, and Machiah Russell, of Morton; her mother Mary Lou Swearingen of Morton; and two brothers, Kyle Swearingen, of Pekin and Kurt Swearingen of Kewanee, Ill.; and one nephew, Talan of Moline, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2011.
Michelle loved watching her favorite movies and T.V. shows with her family. She loved playing games and listening to music. Michelle always found a way to have fun and laugh; she enjoyed making others laugh especially during hard times. She had immense love for elephants, thunderstorms and beautiful skies.
Michelle was involved in Relay for Life and had been in remission from cancer from 2011 until May of 2018.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Oct. 20, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Neponset community building on Commercial St., in Neponset, Ill.
