Norman served in the Navy in WWII. He was stationed in Hawaii.

He worked for 37 years for Caterpillar, Inc. before retiring. Norman was a member of the NRA, a coin collector and a charter member of Oak Grove Bible Church in East Peoria. There is a beautiful wooden cross that Norman made hanging on the wall behind the pulpit.

He enjoyed home cooked meals, riding his Harley and helping out. He spent most of his days after retirement at his son Wayde’s home and business just doing what needed to be done. He helped build many a race car and only missed going to a few races with Wayde.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Oak Grove Bible Church in East Peoria, with Wayde Logue and Pastor Jerry Rupp officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.   Burial will be in Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church Cemetery in East Peoria, where full military honors will be conducted.

The family would like to thank the staff at Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka for their above and beyond excellent care of Norman. Several staff members said how much they enjoyed taking care of him. Anyone who visited Norman remembers him saying, “Don’t pray to get old!”
