Patricia "Pat" Jones

MORTON – Patricia A. Jones, 73, of Morton, passed away on February 10, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

She was born on August 6, 1948, in Paducah, KY, to Robert and Grace (Tschannen) Deem. Patricia married David Jones on August 8, 1970, in Webster Groves, MO.

She is survived by her husband, Dave Jones of Morton; two daughters, Emily (Patrick) Clark of St. Charles, IL. and Bonnie (Martin) Ricci of Lantana, TX; one son, Daniel (Yuri) Jones of Alpharetta, GA; 9 grandchildren, Eleanor, John, and Gareth Clark, Noelle, Lucy Penny, and Danielle Jones, and Harrison, Molly and Trevor Ricci; two brothers, Rev. David (Annette) Deem of Metropolis, IL. and James (Katharine) Deem of Dallas, TX; and one sister, Karen (Marc) Bement of St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her step-mother, Lou Deem.

Pat was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, wife, mother, daughter, friend, teacher, talented artist and active member within the Morton United Methodist Church, choir and community as a whole. She always had words of encouragement that restored and prepared souls for the daily battles of life. Pat helped friends, family and the many children she taught see through the challenges life presented, enhancing our understanding of the abundant blessings from and strength provided by our Lord (Isaiah 43: 1-5). She knew the value of a moment before it became a memory (capturing on camera for us to reflect on and cherish) and truly lived happily-ever-after on a day-to-day basis (in her words, “It’s all part of the experience”).  We are 100% positive that she is pain/tear free and basking in the glorious light of our God and Savior, joining the heavenly choir of angels that sing in exultation.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Morton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the church and also from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.

Memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice or Morton United Methodist Church Building Fund.
