MORTON - Juanita Pauline (Rogers) Ryals, 95, of Morton, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 11, 1924, in Sparta, Mo., to Louis and Anna (Pletcher) Rogers. She married Grady A. Ryals at the home of her parents in Sparta, Mo, on September 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Royce Ryals, four sisters, Blanche Goins, Bessie Arms, Arlene Goins and Susie Johns; four brothers, Benny, George, John and Charles.
Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Orr of Brownsburg, Ind. and Rita Paulsell of Morton; three sons, Roger (JoEllen) Ryals of Brodheadsville, Pa., Bryan Ryals of Morton and William Ryals of Roanoke; one daughter-in-law, Valerie Ryals; 10 grandchildren, Ron (Nickie) Orr of Indianapolis, Ind., Heather (Jason) Murray of DuBois, Pa., Barbie (Shannon) Catton of Pekin, Cheri (Jason) Davidson of Ozark, Mo., Rachael Kenny Duran) Ryals of Effort, Pa., Reggie (Missy) Ryals of Brodheadsville, Pa., Brad (Tracy) Ryals of Lansdale, Pa., Rebecca (Gordon) Bennett of Merced, Calif., Sarah (Adam) O'Neal of Pontiac and Jason Ryals of Jacksonville, Fla.; 20 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Johns of Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Pletcher (Bonnie) Rogers of Sparta, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Pauline graduated from Sparta High School in 1941. She was proud to do her part to serve our country during World War II and help bring the war to an end by working at Beoing Airplane Company in Wichita, Kan., as a "Rosie the Riveter." Because she was small, she riveted and ran wiring to the inside of the airplane wing tips.
She and Grady moved to Morton in 1949, and always liked the community and the neighbors.
Pauline enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, sewing and visiting with friends and family. She especially loved making pies and birthday cakes and sharing meals with friends and family. She retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company, Morton Parts Distribution Center in 1984.

A private family graveside service will be held at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
