Robert F. Wynd

Morton - Robert F. Wynd, 89, of Morton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Peoria to Andrew and Nellie Wynd. He married Dorothy Marilyn Abrahamson on Dec. 29, 1957, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Aug. 23, 2008. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Wynd, and one sister, Julia Peterson. Another brother, Richard Wynd, passed away later Monday evening.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Thomas of Pekin and Julie Wynd of Morton; one son, Gary Wynd of North Pekin; seven grandchildren, Jessica Hopper, Kelly Reed, Nicholas Thomas, Molly Thomas, Melissa Thomas, Kristy Mauerman and Kenneth Lopez; nine great-grandchildren and one brother, Don (Lillian) Wynd of Glendale, Ariz.
He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.
Robert was employed as an electrician with Daniel Electric until his retirement.
He was a former member of Morton Masonic Lodge 352 AF & AM and the Morton Whirl-A-Ways.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Stephen Barnes officiating. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 25, and from 9:30 a.m. until times of services Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton, where full military rites will be conducted by the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
