ROSE MARIE ROBBINS
MORTON - Rose Marie Robbins, 80, of Morton, passed away Mon., Dec. 31, 2018, at Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka.
Rose was born June 6, 1938 in Henry, Ill., to Julius C. and Amelda (Wolf) Hoscheidt. She married Melvin Robbins on Aug. 2, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Henry, Ill.; sharing their wedding date with her parents. Melvin preceded her in death on April 16, 2018. She was also preceded in death by one infant sister.
Rose is survived by three children, Eric (Cathy) Robbins of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Michelle (Brad) Bernier of Morton, and Allen (Tracy) Robbins, also of Morton; seven grandchildren, David (Lauren) Robbins, Danielle Robbins, Matthew, Michael and Jacob Bernier, and Alec and Brendan Robbins; one great-grandson, Jonathan Robbins and twin great-granddaughters, Olivia Kay and Emma Rose. Also surviving are three brothers, William (Mary Anne) Hoscheidt of Bloomington, Ill., Joseph (Ellen) Hoscheidt of Tuscon, Ariz., and Larry (Missie Duke) Hoscheidt also of Tuscon, Ariz.; and one sister, Norma Shearer of Washington.
Rose graduated from Henry High School in 1956. She then attended and graduated from the St. Francis School of X-Ray Technology in 1958. In her earlier years, Rose worked at Eureka Hospital part-time. After her children were born, she became a full-time homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. In 1978, she began working at Methodist Medical Center as an X-Ray Technologist and retired as a Certified Mammographer. She won awards and had a file filled with accolades from her patients, due to her tender care.
Rose was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the Altar and Rosary committees and Bible Study.
She was a wonderful cook and baker who always looked forward to delivering baked goods to others in need. She was known for "Rose Marie's Spaghetti, brownies, and banana bread". She enjoyed swimming and would often load up the neighborhood children to take them swimming for the afternoon. Rose also loved reading and dancing. She was a very devout woman and shared her faith with all who knew her.

A Rosary Service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with a visitation following from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will also take place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., with Msgr. Gerald Ward officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Stewart-Harmony Cemetery in Metamora.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Building Fund.
