Terrance E. "Terry" LaConte

EAST PEORIA – Terrance E. “Terry” LaConte, 79, of East Peoria, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

He was born on September 9, 1943, in Roanoke, Ill., to Wilmer and Gladys (Stechman) LaConte. Terry married Joan Heinold on December 29, 1963, in Congerville.

Surviving are his wife, Joan LaConte of East Peoria; children, Nancy (Eric Stipp) Richey of East Greenville, Pa. and Tim (Vicki) LaConte of Riverview, Fla.; three grandchildren, Ryan Richey, Katie LaConte and Sam LaConte; and two great grandchildren, Lucas Richey and Michael Croll.

Terry was preceded in death by two bothers.

Terry was an automotive salesman for local companies. He also worked at the Caterpillar Visitor Center as a tour guide and greeter.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Some of Terry’s hobbies included fishing, golfing, running, traveling to and wintering in Florida.

Terry was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Rev. Krista Price officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment  will take place at Hirstein Cemetery in Morton.
