Theodore Schneider

MORTON – Theodore M. “Teddy” Schneider, 55, of Morton, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Apostolic Christian LifePoints in Morton. Teddy died surrounded by those who loved and cared for him through his many illnesses. He had recently suffered multiple cases of pneumonia and was receiving hospice services.

Teddy was born on August 18,1966, in Urbana, Ill.

He is survived by his parents, Howard and Judy Schneider of Evanston, Ill.; his brother, Charlie Schneider of Peoria, Ill.; his sister, Maribeth Schneider (Leo Gutierrez) of Santa Fe, N.M.; two uncles, Sam (Jill) Schneider of Champaign, Ill. and John Bart Legros; two aunts, Joy Collum of Danville, Ill. and Ethel Borinstein of Morton; cousins, Christopher Schneider, Jason Shaffer, Christopher Legros, Troy Legros, Tracy Davies and Jake Schneider; and his Godfather Leonardo Gutierrez.

He was preceded in death by one aunt, Tammy Legros.

For the past 10 years, Teddy enjoyed life at Apostolic Christian LifePoints and his daily trips in the van to EPIC. One of his greatest joys was tooling around in his wheelchair by the nurse’s desk, up and down the hallway or being out in the courtyard.

Prior to residing at LifePoints, Teddy lived at Misericordia in Chicago.  

The Schneider family is ever so grateful to the staff at LifePoints for the wonderful care and friendship they shared with Teddy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Teddy at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.

Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton is handling arrangements.
