MORTON — Thomas Alan Law, 66, of Morton, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at his home.

He was born on August 15, 1954 in Beardstown, Ill., to Delbert and Mildred (Stephenson) Law. He married Sharon Crabtree on July 20, 1996.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Law, of Morton; daughter, Jacquelyn (Jack) Walker; son, Douglas (Leslie) Ernst; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley) Walker, Vincent Ernst, Maddison Walker, Keagan Ernst, Sabina Ernst, Douglas Ernst, Jr., Presley Ernst, and Kendall Klockenga; great-grandchildren, Brycen, Mia, and Sawyer; sister, Ernestine (John) Gerula; brother, David (Judy) Law; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Joan and her husband, Clause Miller and Marilyn and her husband, Lyle Petri; his brother, Dale and his wife, Rose Law.

A 1972 graduate of Mt. Sterling High School, Tom served in the US Navy from 1972 to 1976. Upon completion of his service, Tom joined the Illinois National Guard. He retired in 1998 and his last position was shop supervisor. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Illinois Central College.

Tom loved the Lord and served as an example to his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Minister David Spillman officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines will be observed during the visitation and funeral service and masks are required. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
