Thomas "Tom" Broy

MORTON — Thomas D. “Tom” Broy, 57, of Morton, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on April 4, 1964, in Peoria, Ill., to Leonard and Sharon (Wittekiend) Broy. He married Kimberly Hubler in Vandalia, Ill., on February 18, 1989.

Surviving are his wife, Kim Broy of Morton; daughter, Heather (Zac) Maston of Quincy, Ill.; son, T.J. Broy of Willimantic, Conn.; granddaughter, Opal Maston; two brothers, Mark (Rhonda) Broy of Morton and Chuck Broy of Creve Coeur; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his family and would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of his kids. His favorite role in recent years was being Opal’s “papa”.

Tom was a member of First Baptist Church in Morton, where he was known affectionately as “Mr. Tom” by his preschool class.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Ben Towell officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial of cremated remains will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
