Tonya Brummerstedt

GROVELAND – Tonya S. Brummerstedt, 76, of Groveland, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born on January 14, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, to Wayne and Erma (Bernick) Petersen. Tonya married Gary Brummerstedt on April 19, 1975, in Peoria.

Surviving are her husband, Gary of Groveland; three step-children; one special step-daughter, Stacia Brummerstedt; siblings, Gwen (John) Witkowski of Bettendorf, Iowa and one nephew, Daniel Witkowski of Moline, Ill.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Greg Petersen and one nephew, Alan Witkowski.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton, where she was very involved with Bible studies.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Bethel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Jeff Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Stewardson Cemetery in Stewardson, Ill.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
