MORTON - Gertraud Trudy" Kloeppel, 86, of Morton, passed away Sat., April 28, 2018, at her residence.
Trudy was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Passau, Germany. She married Konrad U. Kloeppel on May 12, 1965 in Springfield, Ill.
Surviving are her husband, Konrad, of Morton; one daughter, Trudi (Gerhart) Kämmereit of Passau, Germany; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Aloise (Elizabeth) Baumgartner of Chicago, and Hans Baumgartner of Passau, Germany; and sister Inge Baumgartner, also of Passau.
Trudy was preceded in death by two brothers.
She co-owned and operated, with her husband Konrad, The Peppermill restaurant in Morton.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wed., May 2, 2018, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6 p.m., with Rev. Doug Habegger officiating.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital For Children.
