Veronica E. Chione

MORTON – Veronica E. Chione, 71, of Morton, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria.

She was born on July 29, 1950 in Springfield, Ill., to Joseph and Vera (Dubosh) Leonard. She married Robert Chione in Morton, Ill., on April 24, 1971. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Stealy of North Pekin and Meaghan (Brian Miller) Chione of Morton; three grandsons, Jaxson, Auston, and Triston Stealy; one sister, Cynthia (Rick) Dickinson of Congerville; one brother, Joseph (Jo) Leonard of Morton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Craig Chione; and both parents.

Veronica worked at Brandon Wood Retirement Center in Morton, retiring 2013.

She enjoyed camping, garage sales, fall festivities, and she especially enjoyed her family holiday trips to Gatlinburg.

Veronica will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family Celebration of Life service will be held.
