Vivian Woods

MORTON – Vivian J. Woods, 80, of Morton, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was born on September 19, 1941 in Peoria, Ill., to Harold and F. Evelyn (Walker) Woods.

Surviving are her two nieces, Sherri Guedea and Susie Woods one nephew, Steve Woods, all of California; and sister-in-law, Claudia Woods.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard; and an infant twin sister.

Vivian was a graduate of Prairie High School and Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada. She received her nurse’s training in Bloomington, Ill.

From 1970 to 1975 she was a missionary nurse in Kenya. She served as an administrative assistant and children’s worker at First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Fla. for many years before returning to Morton, Ill. to care for her parents.

Vivian loved to sing and attend vocal concerts. She was a member of Grace Church in Morton and sang in the choir. She also sang in the Gospel Fest concerts and Morton Community Chorus.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Pastor Tim Bertsche and Gary Roseboom officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be at Bradford Cemetery in Bradford, Ill.
